Culverts – pipes which pass water under driveways and roads – are an integral part of maintaining a healthy road system in Whisper Lake. When these culverts become clogged, water has no choice but to flood over, undermining the integrity of adjacent roads.
As noted in the Whisper Lake Lot Restrictions, homeowners have the responsibility of maintaining their culverts and/or swales. This effort helps the POA maintain our roads and manage the cost.
Please keep an eye on the culverts on your property. Check them regularly to ensure entrances and exits are not clogged with leaves and/or other debris. Keep entrances and exits clear and remove obstructions that may contribute to buildup over time.
If you notice flooding, your culvert may need unblocking or, in some extreme instances, repaired. Performing regular maintenance on them can help prevent worst-case scenarios.
